Perhaps the most common form of roofing material is the time-tested and trusted asphalt shingles. Asphalt shingles are a favorite for a multitude of reasons. For one, they're durable, attractive, and suited for a variety of climates. What's more, they come in a variety of grades to ensure protection against the elements in your area. We can offer asphalt shingles that are suited for high winds - anywhere from over 100 to 150 miles per hour!
We can also offer asphalt shingles made to withstand the constant battering brought on by hailstorms. However, please note that while we can outfit your property with the best asphalt shingles for your environment, that does not change the fact that asphalt shingles should be replaced around every 20 years.
This is something to consider when choosing your roofing type. With asphalt shingles in particular, the initial costs are low, but due to the nature of the material, you will need to eventually replace your shingles.
At Elite Roof Experts, we offer new construction, repair, and replacement of asphalt shingle roofs for both commercial and residential properties.
At Elite Roof Experts, we love a high-quality metal roof, and the reasons why are simple. For starters, metal roofing is one of, if not the most durable form of roofing. On average, you can expect a properly installed metal roof to last you around 60 years. Additionally, metal roofs are fireproof, wind-resistant, and essentially self-cleaning, as rain and snow will simply slide right off.
Metal roofs are made from rectangular panels that are installed on your roof. They can be put directly over existing roofing, or you can build a new metal roof from scratch - either way, you can expect a visually appealing, reliable roof. In terms of cost, metal roofing is a tad bit more expensive than asphalt roofing, but not as expensive as some other forms of heavy-duty roofing.
The one main con to consider when comparing roofing types and your needs is that a metal roof is prone to denting in the event of hail or falling debris. Thus, if you're a client in a hail-heavy area, you may want to consider another form of roofing.
Like with asphalt shingles, Elite Roof Experts can provide both residential and commercial property owners with incredible metal roofing.
Tile roofing is one of the most interesting roofing materials we use because it'll either be the perfect solution for your property or something you'd never even consider. Tile roofs have been around for hundreds of years because they can last around a hundred years! Tile roofs (now made from concrete) are bulky, durable, and resistant to salty, humid climates. And because they last so long, you often get an incredible warranty on the material - usually, this is around 50 years, or half the average lifespan of the tile roof you're investing in. Remember, this material won't rot or deteriorate over time like most other roofing materials, plus it's incredibly low maintenance!
What's more, they offer a unique and elegant look, especially because they're not the most common. Tile roofs not only have an inherent beautiful nature, but they're versatile. You can get a variety of unique colored tiles and tile types to ensure your home or business is sporting a roof that matches its aesthetic.
Finally, as far as benefits are concerned, tile roofs are also energy-efficient and environmentally friendly! Because tile roofs are so thick and heavy, they serve as great insulation to your property and help to control the indoor climate. What's more, because tile roofing is made from natural materials, it's low-impact to create and can easily be repurposed.
Now, let's cover some of the reasons why a tile roof may not be right for you. First, they're one of the most expensive types of roofing, and for good reason. While you get what you pay for, tiles require a large amount of material to make and an intensive level of expertise and work to be properly installed. Price alone may be the reason why a tile roof isn't right for you!
Additionally, these roofs are very heavy, meaning only sturdy, compatible roof structures can support them. While this is largely in regard to weight, the slope of your roof structure will also need to be taken into consideration. If the slope is too steep, a tile roof will not work. And finally, while these are some of the most durable and long-lasting roofing materials available today, they are brittle.
This is only a concern during construction/installation; however, it's incredibly important to note. There is a possibility that a tile could crumble during installation or even from workers walking on the roof.
When it comes to our clients, we recommend that our clients with property near the ocean utilize tile roofing material. Due to the nature and composition of the tiles, they're perfect for withstanding the brutal winds and salty air that coastal areas provide.
As with all our roofing materials, we can offer them to residential and commercial clients.
TPO and EPDM roofing materials have quickly become the favorite for commercial property owners due to their effectiveness, ease of installation, and price point. With each of these types of roofing materials, the installation process is similar. First, the substrate on which the roofing material is going to be placed needs to be prepared. Once it's prepared, you choose a type of insulation to lay down. Then, your roofing material is simply rolled out in sections and installed.
This is because these types of roofing come in large rolls instead of shingles or sheets. Another direct benefit of these roofing materials is that they're fire-resistant, and they can either reflect or retain light that interacts with your building to optimize efficiency and energy consumption.
TPO roofing is white, so it reflects light, whereas EPDM roofing is black, thus absorbing light. These roofing materials last, on average, between 15 and 20 years. However, they're relatively easy to repair, maintain, and replace if needed.
While TPO and EPDM roofing materials are most commonly used for commercial buildings, we'd be happy to install them on a residential property if that's what you need.
